Patient Service Representative

This position is onsite in a contact center environment at our Southeast Tucson location at 7810 E. Escalante Blvd., Tucson AZ 85730

What Will I Do as a Patient Service Representative?

In today’s digital world, we know that many interactions that used to be face-to-face can now be fulfilled online and over the phone – patient healthcare is one of those interactions! As a Patient Service Representative with Afni, you will support patients through high quality telephone service to members of a leading national healthcare company. In this role, the patients you interact with have concerns or questions about the most important thing in their lives – their health, so your interaction with them could make a big difference in their day! Though each day and each call will look different, the core tasks of this role will include:

  • Answering phone calls to assist with obtaining medical services
  • Scheduling appointments for members
  • Safeguarding the privay of patient health information
  • Understanding member’s needs and transerring them to correct department as needed
  • Ensuring patients understand polivies and are prepared for upcoming procedures an appointments
  • Educating members on health plan systems and facilities
  • Understanding medical terminology to communicate effectively with patients

What are the qualifications to be a Patient Service Representative at Afni?

  • Must live within 60 miles of our Southeast Tucson location.
  • Six months of customer service experience
  • Ability to show empathy and communicate effectively as you will be handling calls related to healthcare
