Director of Compensation & Employee Relations

Afni is hiring a Director of Compensation & Employee Relations who will lead the development, implementation and maintenance of compensation, HRIS and employee compliance programs. This individual will also oversee several facets of global compensation. The incumbent is responsible for corporate employee relations and shall work closely with the V. P. of Global Human Resources in analyzing data to develop and implement best practices in all facets of human resources in the outsourcing industry.

What you will be doing:


  • Direct annual compensation analysis to include evaluation of existing plans and market research of others competitiveness. Participate in applicable salary and pay practices surveys.
  • Lead annual employee compensation planning activities, including the merit review cycle, promotions, management incentive plan and special adjustments.
  • Ensure job compensation evaluations are conducted using market data and Afni’s internal evaluation process. Determine grades, perform exemption testing and prepare records of the validity of the evaluations.
  • Research compensation and recruitment market trends and make global recommendations.
  • Manage and administer corporate and business partner incentive and bonus plans as applicable.
  • Act as an internal consultant to ensure that administration processes support compensation decisions and reflect pay for performance.

Policy/HR Compliance/Employee Relations

  • Designs and develops programs and policies related to EEO, ADA, FMLA, performance and termination.
  • Advises leaders on trends, risks and actions necessary to mitigate risks associated with employee relations and compliance with EEO, ADA, FMLA, performance and termination of employees.
  • Educate management and employees on compensation guidelines and philosophies as well as compliance with EEO, ADA, FMLA, performance and termination.
  • Act as an interface with HRIS, ensuring audits are conducted for data integrity and provides ad hoc reports to departments/divisions when requested.
  • Establish, manage, and maintain relationships with applicable 3rd party business partners related to the department and function.
  • Point of contact for corporate employee relations issues.

Job Descriptions

  • Oversee job evaluation process and development and maintenance of consistent and accurate job descriptions.
  • Prepare and review job descriptions by interpreting input from incumbents and management.


What you will need:

  • A four-year college degree and eight to ten years of human resources experience with specialization in Finance, Compensation Administration and HR Compliance is preferred.
  • PHR or CCP certifications preferred.
  • Proven analysis experience with the ability to effectively articulate the analytical thought process and make challenging or tough decisions in a timely manner.
  • Possess proactive approach in solving problems and finding solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated high attention to detail are required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products is required.
  • Strong leadership competencies are required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with shifting priorities.
  • Seeks collaborative solutions to address customer issues.
  • Builds cross functional relationships.
  • Seeks and considers others point of view when dealing in unfamiliar situations.
  • Seeks out new tasks, training and coaching and assimilates feedback to improve performance.
