Accounting Clerk

Afni is hiring an Accounting Clerk who provides clerical support in the performance of a variety of duties to maintain accounting records and financial reports. The incumbent will show solid ability to work with multiple accounting processes, such as processing checks, recording receipts, entering journal entries and researching information as needed.

What you will be doing:

  • Processing accounts payable invoices, including coding, vouchering as well as working with vendors and internal customers to reconcile accounts.
  • Supporting other accounting processes such as accounts receivable, overpayment remittances, and other check payments with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Month-end close/general ledger responsibilities.
  • Support doc link user base providing answers to questions about the software when inquiries are made.
  • File and maintain documentation.

Requirements

What you will need:
  • Associates degree preferred. A high school diploma required.
  • Two or more years of relevant work experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office programs is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform various mathematical functions and handles large amounts of money and records accurately
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and business practices, including debits and credits. Demonstrates ability to apply this knowledge to daily operational functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail.
