Afni is hiring a Human Resource Generalist who is responsible for employee relations regarding human resource policies and procedures that include unemployment/separation issues and leaves of absences. The incumbent maintains employment records to meet compliance regulations and applicable laws. The Generalist may also focus on employee engagement, motivation, community involvement, staffing and interfacing with advertisers.

What you will be doing:

  • Addresses employee relations issues, including attendance, performance and behavior. Reviews and tracks performance reviews and monitors merit review process. Conducts investigations and reviews corrective actions, provides feedback to managers and employees.
  • Responds to questions regarding policies, procedures, and benefits.Administers LOA, FMLA, and disability benefits by ensuring the correct documents are in order and by determining qualifications. Tracks disability, FMLA paperwork, and monitors length of time for adherence.
  • Leads Employee Engagement initiatives, serves as round table host, coordinates Wellness Fair and promotes the celebration of rewards and achievements.
  • Gathers data and reports trend analysis for LOAs, corrective action and retention. Prepares specialized reports and provides analysis to HR Manager as requested.
  • Assists in the recruitment process by posting jobs internally and externally as well as attending job fairs. If business needs dictate, will also screen applications, and conduct / coordinate behavioral based interviews.
  • Reviews separation notices for accuracy, records data, and mails separation letters to employees. Prepares documentation to be sent to the Department of Employment Security for unemployment insurance purposes and participates in hearings.
  • Conducts new hire and benefits orientation. Modifies and maintains content changes for site specific details.


What you will need:
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree with emphasis in human resources studies preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant human resources or call center environment experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. HRIS and corresponding applicant tracking system experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Tailors communication to meet the needs of the specific audience and situation.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with shifting priorities.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Keeps customers informed of status and progress.
  • Seeks collaborative solutions to address customer issues.
  • Builds cross functional relationships.
  • Can articulate thought process and rationale behind decision making.
  • Suggests opportunities to expand skills and abilities.
