Afni is hiring an Associate Server Engineer who is is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and operating systems of physical and virtual server in support of business requirements.
 
What you will be doing:
  • Perform system software and hardware upgrades and changes including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination.
  • Monitor, measure, capacity plan and test current\new infrastructure products and services.
  • Research recommendations or solutions for upgrades, improvements and strategies to ensure a stable, available and protected technical infrastructure.
  • Consult with resources and industry experts to ensure the effectiveness and efficiencies technical infrastructure.
  • Develop and ensure deployment documentation such as design and environment specifications, user and technical manuals and process\methodology documentation.
  • Administer core area(s) of technical responsibility as assigned.
  • Identifies deficiencies of both technical issues and business processes, elevates risk to team lead and/or reporting management, and proposes innovative solutions to address issue.

Requirements

What you will need:
  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field, bachelor degree preferred and three years' experience in the field of Server Engineering required.
  • Microsoft MCP, MCSA, and/or MCSE certification is highly desired
  • ITIL experience is highly desired
  • Previous project management experience including research, analysis and implementation is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills and the ability to work with shifting priorities are preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills (negotiation, team-building, positive thinking, can-do attitude, and job flexibility) are preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with server operating systems, networking, virtualization and associated technologies is required
  • Previous experience including research, analysis and implementation is required.
  • Must be an assertive team player with positive attitude and high energy level
